REPORT ON "SCHOOL DAYS" Luncheon.
by Chris McKirdy
What a happy and fun day our Sydney members, friends, State President Catherine and our Parramatta and Broken Bay girls had on Tuesday April 27.
We had a fund-raising luncheon "School Days" for our Project of the Year - to build a pre-school in Sri Lanka in conjunction with the LaSallian Foundation.
The room in Polding Centre was transformed into a school room and we all enjoyed our "lunch-box" of goodies.
Brother Pat McCarthy of the LaSallian Foundation explained about Sri Lanka before ladies were allowed to buy goodies at the Tuckshop.
Our "School Principal" Loretta held a "Who is this?" photo competition - we didn't realise that the best looking girls at school
joined CWL - with Margaret Blomfield and Moya Potts the winners and the Denistone girls taking out the School Quiz.
I think Margaret must have been the Dux at school!
These are always wonderful days of mixing together, having fun and raising money for our Project of the Year.
Our "School Newspaper Reporter" Sharyn McCowen covered the day for The Catholic Weekly.
The strength of CWL is in our ability to support each other in a positive and enthusiastic manner.
Thank you to everyone for supporting the luncheon and the wonderful band of volunteers for setting-up, clearing away,
decorating and cooking for the Tuckshop.
You are all very much appreciated!!!!
