Annual Mass 2008
Report: Helen Cook
We, the members of Catholic Women's League, Archdiocese of Sydney, celebrated our Annual Mass for the Feast of the Assumption at St Mary's Cathedral on Tuesday 12 August.
Special thanks to our Chaplain Father Ray, whose homily was very affirming of Catholic Women and to Father Brian Egan in his acknowledgement of the traditional owners of the land and to Father Bob Hayes from Five Dock for joining in the celebrations.
The cathedral looked magnificent with the newly consecrated altar;the celebration was enhanced by the music and songs of praise. Our thanks to Peter Kneeshaw and the cathedral sacristan and wardens and all who participated in the Mass - thank you. Following Mass - Sydney members, our State President and members of the State Executive, representatives from Broken Bay and Wollongong Diocese - enjoyed a wonderful luncheon at Polding Centre.
The room was decorated with colourful balloons and sweet peas on the tables. A PowerPoint Presentation of the events we were all involved in during World Youth Day was shown much to the delight of our members. What a wonderful way to celebrate Our Lady's Feast Day.
