DAY OF SPIRITUALITY

On a very cold April 29 morning, Catholic Women's League Sydney Executive, Council and Branch members attended a Day of Spirituality at Marian House, Strathfield.
Father Reg Howard, a Columban priest, conducted the day and it was centred around prayer.
After a warming cuppa, we listened to an inspiring talk on prayer by Father Reg and then had quiet time to read, contemplate, discuss or attend Reconciliation.
Donna Rhall from L'Arche (our Project of the Year 2008) spoke on her own faith journey and also the prayer life of the intellectually disabled friends at L'Arche.
We celebrated Mass together and then lunched in the warming sun on the new outdoor furniture, purchased from the proceeds of our Christmas Party 2007. 
It was lovely to sit quietly, share lunch and talk in the sunshine.
In the afternoon Father Reg handed out passages of scripture to pray with and praying with a mantra. 
With the singing of the final hymn, we all felt very uplifted and all 45 members enjoyed a wonderful day.
