Catholic Women’s League, Archdiocese of Sydney is a voluntary women’s organisation that aims to promote positive outcomes for women of today. At the heart of CWL Sydney are the areas of social justice, family, bioethics, equal opportunity, reconciliation and charity, while also providing a voice for Catholic women.
Established in 1913 under the name Catholic Women’s Association it was anticipated that the CWA, as it was, would ‘unite Sydney’s Catholic Women on a basis of a shared Catholicism’.*
Today, members of the organisation continue to work within their Sydney Archdiocesan parish branches supporting local community charities while the CWL Sydney Executive manage and coordinate Archdiocesan events, initiatives and activities from our CBD office.
